Dialysis Unit
The Hemodialysis unit provides all of the necessary services
required for the optimal management of the patient with acute
renal failure or End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD). Specialized
services include the placement of vascular access for the
conduct of therapeutic hemodialysis, hemoperfusion, or
hemofiltration. The experienced physician and nursing staff of
the state-of-the-art inpatient hemodialysis unit deliver the
optimal medical support for the patient with acute or chronic
renal failure.
The hemodialysis unit provides both acute and chronic therapy.
The acute unit provides an average of 10 to 50 treatments per
month, while the chronic unit provides 100 to 150 treatments per
month.
You will be assigned to a specially trained dialysis nurse who
will provide your treatment and education, as well as answer any
questions you might have. At each treatment, you will be
examined briefly by a physician. |
